Limp Bizkit Cancel First U.S. Performance in Eight Years

On July 10th, the original Limp Bizkit -- frontman Fred Durst, guitarist Wes Borland, bassist Sam Rivers, drummer John Otto and DJ Lethal -- were to play their first U.S. show together in eight years, part of the bare-knuckles, blood-gushing Ultimate Fighting Championship 100 weekend.

"We always thought that the UFC and Limp Bizkit's music go hand in hand," Durst, a fan of the sport since it began airing on PayPerView, tells Spinner from a European tour stop. However, Limp Bizkit was forced to cancel the gig this past weekend when the UFC and the band's label, Interscope, could not reach an agreement over DVD rights.

The Bizkit camp also thought the layout of the one-off show -- a stage in front of one of Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay's many pools -- was not the best location for the band's first show back in the U.S., and were opting for the casino's House of Blues. In a statement, the band assured fans, "We are proud to announce that we will still be performing on the same night out of respect for our fans. The details of when and where will follow shortly after this post."

I met Fred Durst at the Grammies a few years ago. He's pretty cool. Who are you? Nobody, right?

Obviously someone is a tad jealous. I and several many millions of people like Fred Durst, and unless you happen to bring in a fan base or income or even history that this artist has had I would have to say that your a loser for thinking he is a poser. You may not like his band music or anything about him, but to say he is a poser for what he has earned is ignorant.

I have to agree with BitBoyBand and Tommy... The rest of you are just hating for the sake of hating... wtf? For one, Wes, one of the single most stylistic & unique guitarists to pop up in the 90's, had left the band... LB would've continued to have a lot more hits if that wasn't the case... So a reunion IS somewhat of a big deal. People may want to talk shit on Fred Durst but just because you don't like him doesn't mean you have to bash the band... I got to meet him years ago as well, & he was a really nice guy who wasn't all full of himself compared to the many morons I got to meet from working in radio. Their music IS a perfect match for the energy of the UFC... rough and explosive. There's more talent in that band between Wes & John alone than most shit on the radio today... & I wouldn't even consider myself an LB 'fan'. Quit hating them for no reason & go get your tickets for the Jonas Brothers or whatever completely commercial bullshit you listen to.
